A Little Background About How I Got Here…
It has been wonderful to get my programs out to so many people who really need it in the Bay Area, but also around the country now through the Internet. It has been quite a journey since I started doing personal training back in 1991 at the age of 18:

  • In 1999, I was awarded First Place as the World’s Best Personal Trainer by Met-Rx. I
  • In 2009, I was nominated Best in the Bay for Weight Loss by Best of the Bay KRON 4.
  • 2010 was a new start for me. It was a year of personal development, reflection and change. I changed my model from personal training to group boot camp programs.  I launched Belmont Boot Camp, Menlo Fit and Shamp’s Mini Camps.
  • 2011 bought programs like TRX Camp & Burlingame Fit Body Boot Camp.
  • 2012 was a year of development and refinement. I worked quite a bit on me and focused more time with the family. In November, I competed in World’s Toughest Mudder, so much of my spare time was spent training for the event. 2012 was a year of optimizing systems, so I could touch even more people in 2013.
  • In 2013, I was awarded runner up for Best Boot Camp by SF A List.
  • I revamped my personal training studio on Harbor in Belmont to make it group friendly. It is now one of the best indoor boot camp facilities around- Brien Shamp’s Boot Camp on Harbor. To date, there are 22 hours a week of programs, including both morning and evening times.
  • In addition to the renovation of the studio, there is a new San Carlos Boot Camp, San Mateo Boot Camp and Youth Obstacle Boot Camp
