4 Week Metabolic Typing Group Program with Brien Shamp (08/22-9/19) *No class 9/5
Has this ever happened to you?…
You want to lose weight, so you try your best friend’s nutrition program. She lost 35 pounds quickly, but you can’t seem to shed a pound.
Your friend, the vegetarian, thrives on pasta and vegetables and has boundless energy; however, when you imitate this nutrition program, your energy plummets and you can hardly drag yourself out of bed.
You eat all the best foods, take only the finest quality supplements, you exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle, yet you still do not feel well.
You believe in nutrition, but you have given up on it. You find it impossible to make sense of the confusing and contradictory information flooding the market.
Metabolic Typing is the wave of the future! I am very excited to teach another Group Metabolic Typing Program (it has been a year since the last one) starting Saturday, August 22nd. The course will meet for 4 weeks on Saturdays for 2 hours/session (10 am -12 pm).
If you can make the days and times of the program, I guar.antee that you will once and for all understand what you need to do to look and feel your absolute best.
This 8 hour program is more comprehensive than my nutrition courses at UC Davis and it is all about YOU! We will not be going over a cookie cutter food pyr’amid program or any other FAD Nutrition Program. Metabolic Typing is designed to give you very specific nutrition guidance based on your genetics, psychology and lifestyle. There is nothing that compares to the depth of this program.
We now have a base*ball conditioning program for athletes, ages 8 and up that will help them reach their ideal potential. If only I would have had a class like this when I was playing. I would have had less injuries, better recovery and improved performance. Check out some of our workouts here: BLOG
If you are a play’er or parent of a play’er and want nothing but the best, check out the Optimal Fitness BPP Here.
Group Exercise Classes
We have made a number of changes to our group schedule to better serve our members. One of the common obstacles we hear from members is that there is not enough time in the day to exercise. We solved that problem by modifying most of our classes to only 30 minutes. If you want a total body workout or a 30 minute core workout come check out these classes. This fits perfectly with the daily minimum recommendation for movement, according to the Mayo Clinic. Get 30 minutes of movement a day and keep the Doc. away.

Many of you may not know that I have a unique interest and a niche in Base*ball Performance. I played base*ball back in my early days from 2nd grade until I was 21 at the University of California, Davis.
After my college base*ball days ended due to a knee sprain, I graduated with a degree in Biomechanics with the objective of helping base*ball players optimize performance.
In 2000, I became the Strength & Conditioning Specialist for Mike Garcia at Canada College and the following year I joined Doug Williams at the College of San Mateo (CSM), which is where I have been for the last 8 years.
On July 9, the California Center for Pu.blic Health Advocacy released a new study on the cost of obesity in California. The study found that the cost of overweight, obesity, and inactivity had climbed to $41 billion in 2006, nearly double the amount reported in 2000.
