2010 Updates from Brien. Change? Do You Fear It or Welcome It?

Oops! If you received my new newsletter, it accidentally went out before I completed it so the opening paragraph was a bit weird. Please see below for the revision:

Happy Sunday!

I hope you are having a great weekend.

It has been a while since I sent out a newsletter. Many things have changed for me in the last year and I look forward to updating you on things. As many of you know I owned and operated the Optimal Fitness Lifestyle Center in San Carlos and we closed in December after 9 years. Although it was a tough decision at the time, I am happy to report that all is great and in general, much less stressful. I say much less stressful because now I have many new stresses, but they are good ones.

My wife Chris and I had Baby Miles 6 months ago and he is awesome. Full of energy and already kicking his legs ready to sprint. Now that we have two kids I think it has been approximately 3 years without a restful sleep 🙂

Moving with kids has been fun. We moved our residence to Belmont this weekend and we have boxes everywhere. My kids and I enjoy the agility challenge workout.

All is going very well with SF Bay Area Fit Body Boot Camp at San Mateo Gymnastics in Belmont. I have two classes from 6-6:50 am and 7:10-8:00 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The participants in the camp are having fun and getting amazing results.

“How I feel affects every aspect of my life.  I feel better, have more energy, more toned up and have a lot of fun at the Boot Camp Brien Shamp offers.” Lynn Hedges

Every workout is posted on-line so if you can’t make it, you can try the program at home or your gym. Check out the daily workouts we do: Daily Boot Camp Workouts

Many of you have told me that early mornings are too difficult to attend the SF bay Area Fit Boot Camp. Good news,  I am starting some mini boot camps at 9:30 am, 5 pm and 6 pm on  Mondays & Wednesdays beginning August 23rd. See below for more information.

The last major update is that two weeks ago Johnny Suarez and I  opened a new Private Training Studio “Belmont Personal Training & Nutrition” located at 248A Harbor Blvd in Belmont. You may have noticed a trend with my Belmont Home & Business now.  I never thought I would leave San Carlos, but Belmont here I am.

This studio is a completely different operation than Optimal Fitness. Personal Trainers and Nutrition Educators bring their clients to Belmont Personal Training & Nutrition (BPTN) for one on one training, partner and small group training. There are no gym memberships or unsupervised exercise sessions.

I am starting two new small group training programs at BPTN:

Shamp’s Mini Boot Camp
starting August 23rd  is guaranteed (30-day money back guarantee on all monthly training programs) to get get you in the best shape of your life. You will decrease your waistline, strengthen your core, improve your endurance, improve your strength, enhance your flexibility and feel better than ever. Oh yes, it is 80% less expensive than personal training at only $25/session.

This program is similar to SF Bay Area Fit Body Boot Camp, but more personalized to your needs given there will be only 10 participants.

The program is offered Mondays & Wednesdays at 9:30 am, 5 pm and 6 pm. There is also a Free Saturday Bonus Class @ 7 am at San Mateo Gymnastics. All classes are 50 minutes.

If you want to get into this monthly mini boot camp program please sign up as soon as possible as there are only 10 spots available for each time and many of my personal training clients have already signed-up. The start date is August 23rd.

What do you think of change? I am a believer that if something is not working and you gave it your all, it is time to move on. As you can see from my updates, my family and I have encountered  lot’s of new changes, but we welcome them. I am grateful for the lessons I learned from the past and excited to use my experiences to design my present and future the best I can.

It can be difficult to get out of a situation that is causing stress, but it is a whole lot better on the other side. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. Welcome change and do what you can to reduce your stress as fast as you can.  It all works out in the end.

If you would like some help to reduce your stress and would like to discuss a plan of action to create change in your life, contact me today: FREE Coaching Session

The new newsletter format will go out on the 1st and 15th of every month. You will see FREE workouts that you can do at your home and gym with minimal equipment just like we do at SF Bay Area Fit Body Boot Camp. You will also receive
