98 Pounds and Still Counting…

“My highest weight was 296 pounds in June 2009.  I lost 36 pounds prior to joining boot camp in July 2012, by walking and preparing my meals to reduce sodium, fat and calories.  I started paying attention to food labels and decreasing the amount of caffeine that I consumed daily.  My new addition of adding a protein shake every morning helped to control my hunger.  After Brien’s 21 day program had ended, I had lost 8 pounds, but the most important thing is that I felt better.

As listed in the chart below, there were several months in which my weight loss was nonexistent and that was frustrating. I continued to attend Brien’s Boot Camp classes, because my blood pressure had decreased, my skin stopped breaking out and my cholesterol decreased from 245 to 190.

I believe by continuing the workouts and not giving up, that once I broke my plateau in May 2013, I started to see significant results.

I really got into planning my meals and taking breaks during the work day to run up, then down five flights of stairs.

My goal is to lose 10 more pounds, increase my stamina and get muscle definition.  I am a work in progress and I am so thankful for all the support from Tonya and the boot camp class, as they were there to see the results that I could not see for myself.

I have learned to count every pound as a victory, since the weight loss and results don’t come overnight.  I wish that people that joined boot camp could see that it takes time to get to where you want to be and to not give up too soon.”
