Here are some local fitness events that may interest and motivate you:
Race to the End of Summer 5K/10K (Sun., Sept 5 – San Jose): Say goodbye to summer with a run along the Coyote Creek Trail. The flat course is suitable for runners/walkers of any level.
Urban Dare San Francisco (Sat., Sept 11 – SF): 2-person teams use clues to find checkpoints, take team photos or perform dares at checkpoints, take public transportation, and call friends to help answer questions.
San Mateo Rotary 5K/10K (Sun., Sept 19 – San Mateo): Fun run & walk along the waterfront at beautiful Seal Point Park in San Mateo. Proceeds provide scholarships for local high school students.
Diablo Marathon, 4-mile, 7-mile & Half marathon (Sun., Sept 19 – Clayton): Hilly and scenic courses on single-track trails and dirt roads. Fully-stocked aid stations every 3-6 miles.
Bridge to Bridge (Sun., Oct 3 – SF): Run or walk the 12K or the 7K, and enjoy the views! Both courses start downtown at the Ferry Building in the shadow of the Bay Bridge, run through Fisherman’s Wharf, along the Marina Green and through Crissy Field. Proceeds benefit the Special Olympics.
Tri, Girl, Tri All-Women’s Triathlon (Sat., Oct 9 – Napa): A half-mile triangular swim course in Lake Berryessa at Oak Shores, an out-and-back 11-mile bike ride along the rolling hills surrounding Lake Berryessa, and an out-and-back 3-mile course over rolling terrain.
