Brien Shamp’s Coaching Member Updates

The latest information and what we are doing at Brien Shamp’s Coaching, Nutrition & Fitness with regards to the Coronavirus

We are doing our best to keep our environment as germ-free as possible (read below for details), but we want to make clear that our best efforts are no guarantee that we are entirely clear of the Coronavirus and you realize that there is a risk of contracting the virus at any of our locations.

We will be doing bodyweight workouts to limit exposure until further notice.

I am happy to jump on a call with you if you desire more information. And, you can always email me at [email protected]

Schedule Revisions Starting Monday!

We are also doing our best to maintain as much normalcy as possible in this uncertain time, but some things are out of our control.

San Carlos sessions at Central School are canceled at least until April 5th, based upon school closures. I just found out that we could not use the school. Until then, please come to the Harbor location unless we have to stop sessions given mandatory government shutdowns. I do anticipate this within the next 72 hours ☹

We will hold classes as long as we can at Harbor, but given most are not working and the kids are not going to school, we have canceled only the 5:25 am session and 6:05 pm session for now.

We will have a new resource for current members that I will share ASAP, so you can get actually get amazing health & fitness results during this downtime. My goal is to have you focus on your daily primal needs even more right now, so you don’t get caught up in all the chaos around you. With this daily focus on you, there will be less stress & anxiety, better sleep, improved digestion & immune health and you should also lose some belly fat.  How does that sound???

I know many of you will not be coming in, so I will be doing a daily zoom workout and posting on our Coaching FB group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nutritioncoach/  and the new resource I will share with you ASAP. Stay tuned!

I have a request during this time. I understand there is fear, but rather than emailing us to cancel your memberships can you please continue to pay the monthly membership dues at least for the next 2 months. Unfortunately, if everyone was to hold/cancel we will not be able to pay our employees and will need to close. I know this is not your problem but unfortunately, the is a real scenario. I am doing everything I possibly can to continue to provide you fitness services and more. I believe our new remote resource will allow you to continue your fitness journey and during this time it is quite possible that you even get more fit and healthy by doing something different.

I am grateful to have you as a client and I am here to help you any way I can.

San Mateo County: Restrictions on Gatherings

Saturday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. San Mateo county sent out notices regarding public gatherings. We have everything in place to meet their requirements.

The public notice states the following:

  • The space in which the gathering is held must accommodate social distancing by allowing all attendees to stand or sit at least six feet from any other attendee;
  • Proper hand hygiene and sanitation material must be readily available to all persons at all times, including soap and waste receptacles. If soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used.
  • Persons hosting gatherings must alert prospective attendees at least 24 hours prior to the gathering that gatherings pose a heightened risk of COVID-19 transmission, and that older adults and individuals with existing health conditions are at particularly serious risk if they contract COVID-19 and should not attend;
  • Persons hosting gatherings must clean surfaces with disinfecting wipes or other standard cleaners before, during, and after the event

How and what we are doing to keep it clean

Brien Shamp’s Coaching has always had very strong cleaning policies and procedures. We strengthened those procedures very early on in this crisis, well before it was a national emergency. Here is where we are at today:

  1. We have a janitorial service that cleans our facility 3x per week.
  2. We clean all equipment before and after each class.
  3. We have wipes and hand sanitizer available.
  4. We just purchased a spray disinfectant that we used throughout the gym.
  5. We have gym wipes & hand sanitizer at the front entrance and we require each person to wipe their hands upon entering the club.
  6. The bodyweight workouts will encourage social spacing during classes. As needed we will restrict attendance with Zen planner mandatory scheduling. This would only be needed if there is beyond 25 per session but I doubt that will be an issue.

What you can do to help us keep it clean!

  • Make sure your hands are clean upon arrival (at the front door).
  • Hand-washing is your best self-defense against the spread of germs. As a backup, use the antibacterial hand sanitizer readily available to you or you can use a gym wipe on your hands.
  • Substitute fist pumps for high fives. Please feel comfortable not participating in any bodily contact with the staff or other members if you so choose.
  • Please stay home if you are not feeling well, especially if you have a fever, are coughing or sneezing or are experiencing shortness of breath. If a member shows up with symptoms, the staff will politely ask them to leave.
  • Grab a gym wipe or disinfectant bottle and wipe down your equipment after every session.

Help us by being vigilant. If you have traveled to any of the countries where there are outbreaks of the virus, please follow guidance on the CDC’s website.

Thank you for your patience during this time!

Our word of the week is CALM!

Calm on 3!
