Check out the latest technology for weight loss…

Healthy lifestyle concept.Hey team,

I read an article today on the latest technology for weight loss from the folks at  http://ilovekickboxing.com

Check it out below:

“There’s all kinds of technology these
days to help with weight loss:

Heart rate monitors… step counters…
GPS trackers… iOS apps… Android
apps…

And the list goes on.

But you know what, there’s one simple,
forgotten tool that I think beats them all:

The pen.

For even 1 day, write down everything
you eat with a trusty ole pen.

Don’t leave anything out. And list out
your ingredients too.

For example, if you write down “salad”,
you might pat yourself on the back.

But if you write down, “Salad with
croutons, ranch dressing, and cheese”…

You might scratch your head and say,
“You know what, that’s really not as
healthy as I thought, now is it!”

Writing it ALL down will give you the
clearest, most honest view of your habits.

It’ll show you where you’re rockin’ and
rollin’…

And it’ll show you where you could
use some work.

Give it a shot and let me know what
you think 😉

Peace!

Ingenious, I am personally not an advocate of apps for weight and fat loss because the most important variable apps track is calories. For me calories is the least important variable of interest because when you choose whole, natural, unprocessed foods that are low in sugar you will generally find it difficult to eat enough calories.

Here is an article about the calorie myth: Calorie Myths Revealed!

More important things to know are:

  • How the food was cooked?
  • Was the food packaged or fresh?
  • Sugar content
  • Protein quality
  • Type of fat/oils?
  • Is their gluten, dairy, soy, corn, added sugar?
  • Is the food genetically modified?
  • Added chemicals, hormones or anti-biotics?
  • Pasteurized or raw?
  • How did you feel before, immediately after and 1-2 hours after eating? Were you satisfied? Bloated? Gassy? Joint pain?
  • When did you eat the meal? Did you eat within an hour of exercise? Did you exercise?
  • How did you sleep? What time did you sleep?
  • What did you eat before bed and when?

At the end of the day the most important thing is that you become aware of what you are eating and how it makes you feel. If an app allows you to create success that is great, but keep in mind that good ole paper and pen is a proven weight loss model.
