Honey Melon Smoothie-Power Shake Clinic Starts Tomorrow,October 7th @ Optimal Fitness

Do you need some more  ideas for meals? Think about a smoothie. I like to think of a smoothie as a meal replacement-it can replace any meal where you are in need of support. Many like me use this model  as a typical breakfast because it is quick and easy. Others use it to replace dinner because they don’t want to eat a large meal before bed or they are lacking in time. Many athletes use smoothies as a recovery model because they can pack in the nutrients. Others who have cancer, IBS or eating disorders use this model because  a liquid meal is easier to consume when the gut shuts down and digestion is problematic.

Here is a great smoothie/shake recipe from www.mercola.com, and is absolutely delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup ripe cantaloupe, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup raw, organic milk
  • ½ teaspoon raw honey

PREPARATION:

  1. Place melon into pint-sized measuring cup (or blender).
  2. Add raw milk.
  3. Add raw honey.
  4. Whiz with handheld immersion blender, or in regular blender until smooth.

There you have it!  A deliciously yummy smoothie with cantaloupe, raw milk, and raw honey! I’m certain you and your family will love it! I would also add whey protein.
