How to Eat Healthy on a Budget

I had a great coaching call on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 with Dr. Heidi Dulay. The topic was “How to Eat Healthy on a Budget”.

Making your food expenses a priority was the focus for this call, and we covered ideas and tips to help you consume quality foods on a budget. Food is a priority in life! How do we make the right choices?

We often focus on being house rich rather than health rich. With this call, we covered how to select animal proteins that provide the most nutrients, alternatives to poor quality, processed, pasteurized cow milk, and a ton of tips and ideas to help you stay healthy on a budget!

Some of the key points we discussed are:

  • Grow your own. Growing your own vegetables, or spices can be done in the smallest of spaces, and on the smallest of budgets. It all begins at home!
  • Buy in Bulk. Buying in bulk, sharing with friends, and opting for a large cut instead of small, can all be beneficial to a limited budget.
  • Farmers Market. Learn the best times to shop, and to haggle for your best interest.
  • Freezing. Preparing meals ahead, and freezing your meals not only cuts down on time, but cuts your budget in half. Utilizing vegetable scraps as a soup base, raw foods, grass fed meats and dairy, can also help improve your budget outlook.

I learned a lot in this discussion, and I am certain you will too!
