Word of the Week: TRANSITION

The word of the week is Transition.

Transition is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

I love this quote by Barbara De Angelis, “The moment in between what you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place.”

Let’s reflect on this pandemic for a minute….

❓Who were you/where were you pre-Covid?

❓Who/where are you now?

❓Who are you becoming?

❓How’s your dance? Have you danced like no one is watching, moved through these times with grace, and transitioned with ease? Or have you danced with fear and stood on the sidelines while other people danced?

As I reflect back just over a year it’s hard to believe all that has happened and we lived through it! It surely hasn’t been easy, but I think we should acknowledge ourselves for living in these uncertain times and making it to April 2021!!! ???

2020 – 2021 are transition times that will go down in history and we are still in the thick of it.

Right now, we are transitioning into our new norms, which can yet present more stressors….

✔️Many kids have recently gone back to school (even though many other kids have been hybrid or full-time for months). Parents may have some freedom from virtual learning, but now we have drop-offs and pick-ups and other new things to figure out like what mask can my kid comfortably wear for several hours in a classroom 🙂
✔️Churches are in-person again
✔️Most kids sports are being played again
✔️Gyms are back in operation (again, many gyms have been open for months)
✔️You can now sit inside of most restaurants
✔️Many more people are now leaving their homes and actually shopping at the grocery stores
✔️Vacations are being booked
✔️The traffic is coming back

How are you going to approach this new dance as we transition to our new norms?

Will you dance with more ease or will you continue to dance in fear?

Uncertainty and transitions are generally never easy, but the grass tends to be greener on the other side.

“Within every adversity is an equal or greater benefit. Within every problem is an opportunity. Even in the knocks of life, we can find great gifts.” ― Napoleon Hill
