Word of the week – ADAPT

The word of the week this week is Adapt. To adapt is to ADJUST to different conditions or uses, or to CHANGE to meet different situations.  Being humans, adaptation is essential in order for us to survive and move ahead in the world.  We adapt ourselves to people, situations, and surroundings which affords us a greater opportunity to get what we want and what we need. Without the ability to adapt, we may find ourselves stuck with our lives fighting for our survival.

The ability to adapt is essentially the ability to evolve with the world around us. The reward for adapting will be a richer, healthier, and happier life. By adapting to the changing world, we will be able to discover parts of ourselves that might have remained in the dark. Resisting change is ultimately stressful, therefore learning to adapt and go with the flow ensures a happier, healthier lifestyle.

How are you adapting to the changes in our world? Are you stuck and still holding on to your routines pre-quarantine? I coach many people all over the world and I have found that those who adapt well are thriving and those who are holding onto the past are overwhelmed, stressed and have declining health and increased weight.
