I hope you had a great weekend. A number of the boot campers did the Big Sur Mud Run over the weekend. Great work. I heard it was a lot of fun. I was inspired and did my own mud run at Edgewood Park yesterday. I even put my Tough Mudder headband on to bring back the memories (see photo on right). Got dirty and the water coming off the mountains was absolutely beautiful. Come join the walk/jog group every Sunday at 8 am.
I have a couple events I would like to share with you:
May 19th-Gladiator Run in San Jose: This is a 5k obstacle course and will be great for beginners who are new to the challenge races. We have a team and Semisi is the Team Captain, so contact him here with your questions: [email protected]

May 20th-Bay to Breakers fundraiser, Race for Daraja in San Francisco: 104 racers will be running for Daraja Academy, a leadership academy for girls in Kenya. As a runner, you will be matched with a student on campus who will be running the same distance on the same day “with” you! She will learn about you just as you will be learning about her. The event was a hit last year as reigning Bay to Breakers champion Lineth Chepkurui ran for Daraja Academy. This year promises to be bigger as the academy is an official Bay to Breakers charity partner! Join the team, you’ll feel good- physically and emotionally- as you will be running for a cause and you’ll get to know someone who’s life you are changing. Sign up, you won’t regret it!
