Fat Loss Tip #9- Bring Your Own Food

Happy Tuesday!

Tomorrow after my 9:30 am class, I will be heading North to Elk Grove, CA with the family, where I will be spending 5 days with my wife’s family. My goal is to connect and catch up with the family, relax, do the best I can to be active and to stay on track with my food (with the occasional cheat treat).

In order to be successful with my exercise & eating I have to have a plan (and so do you).

I will bring my TRX, a Battle Rope and a 40 lb. Sandbag and I will be set for my workouts.

The workouts are the easy part when traveling. You really do not need to bring any workout equipment- all you really need is your body. Try this Tough Mudder Workout and burn around 500 calories: Body Weight Workout

Many of you, including my family are wondering if I will cave in, let go and eat the cookies, pies, and various other high carb related items that are typically consumed with travel and over the holidays.

I will sample a few items that are not on my approved food list; however, I do plan on bringing my own special treats.

Fat Loss Tip #9-  When attending a party or gathering, bring a healthier dish and one you like and eat it! This is a good way to eat less tempting foods.

You never want to be hungry and unprepared- your brain wants to be satisfied and you will choose whatever is available to fix your needs.

I am a chocolate lover and here is a healthy recipe for you to try:

Raw Chocolate Truffle (Source: http://www.ttfatloss.com/)

Ingredients:
• 1 cup Raw Walnuts/Almonds
• 3‐4 Tbl. Raw Cacao/Cocoa powder (will say on the package it’s raw)
• ½ cup Dates or 4 Tbl. raw honey or raw Agave nectar to taste
• 1 Tsp. Cinnamon or a dash to taste
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• Dash of salt
• 1 Tbl. Raw Coconut Oil

Blend all ingredients in food processor until almost smooth.
You may need to modify ingredients a bit to get the taste you like.
You can roll into balls and have as treats or crumble over fresh cut fruit.
