Word of the Week: FUN

The word of the week is FUN! 

Fun is something that provides amusement or enjoyment. Many have forgotten what it’s like to have fun. Life has become so serious, negative, fearful and complex that fun seems like a thing of the past.

Stress is inevitable in today’s life and it wreaks havoc on our health. Leisure activities like laughing with friends, dancing, throwing a ball for your dog, getting out in nature, watching your favorite TV show (preferably a show that brings out the best in you like Ted Lasso), or reading books have a lot of health benefits.

Having fun is psychologically good for us. It helps to balance out our stress, boost our creativity, energy, productivity, and overall cognition.

The term fun is defined by the individual. Play and try new things. Give yourself time to destress and forget your problems, the issues of the world, worries and responsibilities. Remember, we can all add a bit of fun into our lives.

This week I encourage you to reflect on what you did in the past that brought you enjoyment. What can you bring back given the current world we live in?

Life is too short to worry about all that is wrong. Plan & schedule ways to have fun daily and do your best to enjoy the day!
