The word of the week is GRIT!
Grit was defined as “perseverance and passion for long-term goals” by psychologist Angela Duckworth and colleagues, who extensively studied grit as a personality trait.[3]
They observed that individuals high in grit were able to maintain their determination and motivation over long periods despite experiences with failure and adversity.[3]
Research indicates that the ability to be gritty—to stick with things that are important to you and bounce back from failure—is an essential component of success independent of and beyond what talent and intelligence contribute (Duckworth 2016).
How’s your Grit?
I often tell my coaching clients that weight loss and fat loss results are not linear. Challenges will present themselves and you must not give up on what you desire.
You must have grit!
