Self myofascial release for optimal performance workshop May 31st @ 10:15 am

fitness1Happy Monday!

Do you have a nagging muscle or joint issue? We now know that rest is no longer the preferred model of healing.  For most, as soon as you get back into motion the pain comes back.

Stretching also tends to be useless and for many can even make matters worse.

If you want to continue to see and feel the effects of exercise you must be on a daily self myofascial release program.

Self myofascial release for optimal performance is an easily learned and highly effective tool that can be used to not only to recover from injuries, but prevent them from happening in the first place.

Stretching is certainly useful in enhancing muscle length and imbalances but does not address fascial (connective tissue) restrictions that greatly contribute to pain and dysfunction. Many people with chronic pain can be easily helped with myofascial release but are left undiagnosed and hurting.

Injuries like the kinds runners experience — as well as the repetitive motion of running — can cause fascia to tighten and put up to 2,000 psi of pressure on muscles, joints and nerves, increasing your risk of further injury.

Using various tools and myofascial techniques, you can learn how to become aware of your own fascial restrictions and then manage them with self release.

Self myofacial release will increase fluidity of movement which will maximize athletic performance and recovery time.

Protect your joy of movement by learning about myofascial release.

Come experience self myofascial release at the Harbor Studio in Belmont on Saturday, May 31st, 10:15-11:30 am.

This is why “A Grain of Truth: The Gluten Summit” is so important: To help those potentially return to health who have no idea what is fueling their ailments, including you.
