I am in Tahoe with the fam for the weekend and it is absolutely beautiful here.

I just wanted to send you a quick Thank You for being part of my community and allowing me to share what I have learned. Hopefully the information I send weekly will help you speed up the process for your health & fitness goal achievement.

Whether you are an email subscriber, boot camp member, detox client, personal training client or one of my coaches at the boot camps or trainers at the studio, I am grateful for you.

I love helping you succeed and there is nothing else I would rather do. It is great waking up in the morning excited to see you all (and this is even at 5 am 🙂 )

I have been a personal trainer, nutrition and lifestyle coach for 23 years now and it has been an interesting and exciting journey.

Training clients and helping others has always been the fun and easy part. Running a business was not always fun and painful at times.

For those who have not known me long, 2009 was a rough year. From 2001-2009, I owned and operated  a wellness center in San Carlos with 30 independent contractors and employees. We were open 15 hours a day and offered a gym membership model with personal training and other holistic services. I used to do personal training with clients 10-15 hours each day and I did my best to manage the business as well.

Although we were successful with our clients, I ran the business into the ground. It is a scary sight to see my bank account hit negative numbers, especially with a second child on the way 🙁 I had no idea how to run a business and all I really wanted to do was help others.

  • 2010 was a new start for me. It was a year of personal development, reflection and change. I changed my model from personal training to group boot camp and detox programs.  I launched Belmont Boot Camp, Menlo Fit and Shamp’s Mini Camps.
  • 2011 bought programs like TRX Camp & Burlingame Fit Body Boot Camp.
  • 2012 was a year of development and refinement. I worked quite on me and focused more time with the family. In November, I competed in World’s Toughest Mudder, so much of my spare time was spent training for the event
  • Lastly, 2012 was a year of optimizing systems, so I could touch even more people in 2013.
  • So far in 2013, I was awarded runner up for Best Boot Camp by SF A List.
  • I revamped my personal training studio on Harbor in Belmont to make it group friendly. It is now one of the best indoor boot camp facilities around- Shamp’s Studio Boot Camp. To date, there are 24 hours a week of programs, including both morning and evening times.
  • There are now 57 weekly boot camp classes each week with 6 locations. Check out the NEW Program Schedule here–> Boot Camp Schedule
  • Coming soon, you will be able to view programs we offer at Shamp’s Studio Boot Camp and follow along where ever you are around the world. We are creating a professional video archive now.
  • In addition to the renovation of the studio, there is a new San Mateo Boot Camp.

With all of the new programs, I am excited to help thousands more change the way they look and feel through the perfect nutrition, lifestyle and exercise formula.

In has been an amazing 3 years and I grateful for the ability to basically start over and create such a great community.

Starting May 6th, there will be a NEW 8:30 am Boot Camp Program at the Harbor Studio given the 9:30 am has reached capacity.

The programs at all locations are growing each week and we are getting so many positive testimonials which I love to hear.

I do not have the intention to keep adding additional boot camp locations and times, but I do have the desire to continue growth of the programs to accommodate more people who want my help.

It is a lot easier to keep things small, but given the success of the programs and the systems I created to work with a large amount of clients, I will continue adding programs and expert coaches as the need arises.

Couple more things:

If you or someone you know is motivated to improve their health & fitness, but can’t afford the program, I am looking for the right people to give a 6 week scholarship.

Given I have been in a state of need, I want to help others who are in need.

I will give scholarships to those in need if they send me a short essay on why they want and need the scholarship.

Scholarships will be given for the following programs: 6:25 am & 8:30 am programs in Belmont, 6:00 am in San Mateo & 7:10 am in Burlingame.

Please send me essays before May 1st.

Last thing, be on the lookout for my new 6 week nutrition & lifestyle fat loss group. This will be a fat loss education, motivation and support group for 10 people willing to take serious action for transformation. I will be your coach for 6 weeks and we will be on a journey together.
