What They NEVER Want You To Know About Real Butter

Happy Tuesday?

The bacon article got a lot of attention last week, so thought I would stir it up again this week 🙂

It seems as if there are still a number of people that believe all fat is bad, and carbs are good. Unfortunately, this is a difficult concept to grasp without really going into details. Most of us just want the answers and with nutrition, and for that matter anything that pertains to the human body, our unique genetics and lifestyle habits, nothing is that simple.

Here is the deal, the fat free craze of the 80’s & 90’s clearly did not work! My family bought into it also. We cut fat and ate sugar free everything, thinking that the fat was the enemy. It didn’t work as a treatment model because we can see that there is clearly more obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart disease,  cholesterol issues, etc.

According to Dr. Mercola, “If you didn’t already know this, American medical care is the most expensive in the world. The U.S. spends more than twice as much on each person for health care as most other industrialized countries. And yet it has fallen to last place among those countries in preventing avoidable deaths through use of timely and effective medical care.”

Mercola further states, “The system is fatally flawed and there is NO PILL that can make you healthier! They can only mask symptoms, and more often than not cause additional health problems.”

High carbohydrates are a major problem leading to the demise of the American Population. More specifically, those carbohydrates that are high in sugar.

Not all carbohydrates are bad, just like all fats are not bad. There is good and bad with everything in life.

Here are the good carbs: low glycemic fruits & veggies (those that do not elicit a high blood sugar response), legumes, and whole & gluten free grains such as quinoa. *Alcohol is a high sugar carbohydrate

Over the last 20 years, I have learned many things, but the most important tip I have learned is that we must balance our blood sugar levels.

Good signs that we are out of balance include excessive weight and body fat (centralized around the belly), thyroid issues, high blood pressure, hunger, cravings for sweets, fatigue, concentration issues, inflammation and more. I coach people to listen to these physical symptoms and to find the right metabolic type for their needs: Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching

Another model is to asses check for blood sugar issues using a Glucometer.

Check blood sugar 4X over the course of 1 day:
– Upon Arising
– Before Lunch
– Before Dinner
– Before Bed.

All results should  be between 90-100.

Everyone has a unique ability to deal with carbohydrates and has to figure out their own requirement, even when consuming low glycemic carbs. Sometimes even an apple will cause blood sugar fluctuations and the apple needs to be cut in half and combined with a fat like almond butter for best results.

So, now on to fat. I do not advocate a high fat diet either, but a common sense diet with traditional fats that have been fine for hundreds of years. Butter is one of those fats. But not all butter either. I told you it was not simple.

Check out the truth on butter. Food companies that sell tubs of yellow “glop” really do NOT want you to read this article by my partners at Prograde.

P.S. I am in the 4th day of my 10 Day Detox and all is going well. I haven’t had animal protein in a few days and that butter sounds real good. Soon enough I will add it back. Great to change things up once in a while.
