Word of the Week: RITUALS

The word of the week is Rituals. ritual is a way of behaving or a series of actions that people regularly carry out in a particular situation.

“A daily ritual is similar to a daily routine since they are also a series of tasks that are completed in the same order. But a daily ritual differs in its intention. Daily rituals are meaningful practices and are internally motivated. A daily ritual can provide energy and enjoyment along with efficiency and structure. A ritual is a carefully selected way of doing something that has a sense of purpose and a positive side effect in addition to the straightforward completion of the task.” (Source: https://www.lifehack.org/847758/daily-rituals)

Reshma recommended this word of the week and she said “Attending boot camp in the mornings is a ritual for me :)”

If you are not satisfied with the outcomes in your life, it is often good to think about optimizing your rituals.

Have you thought about your rituals lately?

I created a model designed to simply life. To make you aware of your most important health & wellness related needs and how to prioritize them called the 7 Daily Primal Needs. This system has been shown to improve performance, mental clarity,  energy, sleep, digestion, weight loss, stubborn belly fat and more, so you can have an edge on life!

Do you have rituals for your 7 daily primal needs?

  1. Conscious Breathing
  2. Hydration
  3. Sleep
  4. Eat
  5. Love, Connection & Contribution
  6. Growth
  7. Move

Ritual Challenge of the Week:

Pick a primal need that you want to improve and write down specific rituals that you are willing to do to improve that need daily.

For example: Primal Need #1: Upon waking daily I am going to open up the mobile app 10% Happier and do a guided meditation. At each red light I am going to breathe in and out of my nose and breathe as slow as I can. When I am not speaking, but listening to others I am going to consciously breathe while being the best listener I can.

Good: Just reflect on the primal needs that you want to improve and rituals that you think would work to achieve your goals. If time and energy allows, write your rituals down. Every action starts with a thought!
Better: Pick at least one primal need that you want to work on and write down specific rituals to follow for the week.
Best: Write down specific rituals for each primal need and follow them each day for the week.

“The key to forming good habits is to make them part of your ‘rituals.’ I have a morning ritual, afternoon ritual, and Sunday ritual. It’s one way to bundle good habits into regular times that you set aside to prepare yourself for the life you want. Rituals help you form habits.” Lewis Howes
