I hope that my pain can be your gift….

You may have heard the news already, but I did it again….

I ruptured my left patellar tendon (the tendon that holds the bottom of your knee cap to your shin, so you can bend & extend your leg) last Monday playing volleyball and I am now on Day 8 of my new sedentary lifestyle (post op).

It will be another long journey that I will overcome as I did last time, but with any challenge there is something to learn and I have already learned so much.

This time around, same exact surgery it is very different and gratefully much better. I was doing things on Day 3 that I wasn’t able to do on Week 4 of my last surgery.

My pain and inflammation are much less and my sleep, mobility and function are way better!

Crazy, good right?

This isn’t my first rodeo. What’s great about multiple rodeo’s (challenges, whether injuries or life’s curveballs) is that we have an opportunity to stay the course and do nothing different and life becomes more painful or PIVOT – change course to create new possibilities.

It’s been a couple years of major pivots and although I am up for the challenge, I know that most are just too overwhelmed and crash under pressure.

Through my last two surgeries and other past challenges I have realized that the western medical system is doing the best they can with what they got, but they lack personalization, communication, customer service, preventative models and operate as a pain and disease MANAGEMENT model.

I had some amazing supportive nurses and two great Orthopedic doctors re-attatch my tendons, but I find it appalling that not one person has followed up post surgery (again this is Day 8).

I didn’t even get a piece of paper noting a recovery game plan on my wheel chair ride out, although there was some info in my high tech portal. What if I wasn’t a tech guy?

I was given Norco, Ibuprofen and Tylenol and some generic info on how to take them. I am fairly knowledgeable with these drugs, but are you? Do you know that these drugs although they can be helpful are also likely to cause damage if used too much? And, what is too much?

I was never told how long to take these things for, how to best take them, etc.

Let’s talk Norco for a minute. This is an addictive Opioid.

This combination medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain BUT DOESN’T remove INFLAMMATION. It contains an opioid pain reliever (hydrocodone) and a non-opioid pain reliever (acetaminophen). Hydrocodone works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. NOTE…it works in the brain but not the area of need!!! Acetaminophen can also reduce a fever.

So basically, Norco masks the pain and makes you feel like you are better than you are. This can be a good thing for a couple days at most, but it can also cause you to think you are superhuman and overdo things.

Besides addiction Norco and similar opioids have other side effects. For more go to: Norco

I am not writing this to tell you not to take medical drugs. I am not a medical doctor and you should consult with your doctor about your personal needs.

That’s my main message…we need better communication and personalization and that is generally not possible with our current medical model, unless you pay extra for a concierge medical doc.

I did take a few Norco’s to take the edge off, but there are so many other, better, healthier and more effective ways to reduce inflammation, pain and to improve sleep, function and healing.

I tend to throw the kitchen sink at pain and injuries: meds (as needed for short term pain), real food to reduce inflammation and enhance immune support, mindset hacks, supplements, essential oils, crystals, ice lasers, massage, meditation, energetic healing work, hydration strategies, sleep rec. etc.).

It is my goal to safely recover as fast as possible to move on with my life!

I have some added free time and I would like to offer a FREE nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle consultation to the first 10 respondents to this email.

I’m doing this because people have been misinformed about healing, especially supplements.

The myths out about alternative healing therapies including supplements can be misleading and scary, which is why I believe in being educated by an experienced professional as opposed to getting therapies and supplements you don’t need.

If you would like to know more about what you could be missing with your healing, performance, recovery, and results, and how supplements could help you, then lets connect.

Finally, you don’t have to be a current client to get a meeting with me on this intel. So, go ahead, I will not bite you, email back today letting me know you want a FREE consultation.
