Fat Loss Tip #28-Be Grateful!

If you want reduced anxiety & stress, a happier life and a leaner, sexier body then learn to appreciate yourself and others.

Until about two years ago, I never thought much about gratefulness.

I believed good things happened to those who worked hard and given I always worked hard, failure was not an option. I thought life was as simple as that. I think I have my Father to blame for this one (I usually blame my Mother)   🙂

I had a rude awakening when I was forced to close my old wellness center (Optimal Fitness) in 2009 after 9 years and lost just about everything. Perfect timing with my second child on the way. Many did not know how bad things really were given I did my best to remain calm on the outside, but inside I was angry, scared, depressed and couldn’t believe failure was happening to me.

After a considerable amount of education from the Mercy Center, spiritual direction, meditation and more,  I became aware that the financial loss I had been solely focused on was relatively insignificant in comparison to what I gained. This is a difficult distinction when you are in the middle of a crisis.

Although Optimal Fitness did not workout as I had planned, the 9 years were full of amazing and life-giving gifts.

If it were not for Optimal Fitness, I would not have met my wife and have the amazing family I have today. I had the opportunity to work with thousands of phenomenal people who allowed me to help them with their weight, pain and stress issues (many of you are reading this right now). Those experiences have allowed me to create even faster & better results in new clients. I learned how to run a business into the ground and more importantly, what is needed to create efficient systems and a successful business model. Most important of all, I learned to simplify.

I now have a much simpler business model with two main programs- Boot Camps & Nutrition Programs.

I am grateful for all that I have and all that I do not.

It has been an amazing journey and I look forward to what is to come- not only the good, but the challenges that present themselves.

An attitude of gratitude transcends every aspect of your life, making it brighter and richer. You learn not to sweat the small things in life because at the end of the day, nothing much really matters. With less attachment to the small things you will recognize less stress and the fat will fall off.
