One of my fat loss tips is to schedule a fitness event (Fat Loss Tip #27). This has been proven to help give you or keep that motivation needed to continue an exercise program, nutrition & lifestyle that supports health, wellness & vitality.
When the goal is fat or weight loss only, your sole focus tends to be on the numbers on the scale or measuring device. For many the numbers do not change as fast as desired when this is the only focus.
When the goal becomes overall health and wellness and less emphasis on the numbers, the fat & weight seem to fall off effortlessly. Fat & weight loss are a good side effect of a healthy physiology- a good digestive & immune system, efficient organs and glands, good hormonal balance, etc.
If you have an event planned in the future, you will more than likely stay committed to your weekly schedule. You will prepare & plan better, eat healthier foods more often, accumulate at least 30 minutes of movement per day, be aware of what you are eating, sleep better, drink the right amount and type of water, etc.
If you don’t train appropriately for your future fitness event you could hurt yourself and the event will not be that much fun, so train accordingly. I am here to help!

San Carlos Rotary Fun Run @ Hometown Days
For the last 3 years my boot campers, friends and I have participated in the local San Carlos Fun Run. I wasn’t going to doing it this year but they talked me into it. Everyone that participates will receive a T-shirt or tank from me, so when you sign up email me your size and I will have it for you on race day. We will meet at the registration area at 8:00 am.

Bay to Breakers Fundraiser, Race for Daraja in San Francisco:
104 racers will be running for Daraja Academy, a leadership academy for girls in Kenya. As a runner, you will be matched with a student on campus who will be running the same distance on the same day “with” you! She will learn about you just as you will be learning about her. The event was a hit last year as reigning Bay to Breakers champion Lineth Chepkurui ran for Daraja Academy. This year promises to be bigger as the academy is an official Bay to Breakers charity partner!
