My team and I just finished another Tough Mudder in Tahoe today.
It was a beautiful day and a great challenge for all of us. Each obstacle event has its own set of memories.
Last week I told you about Fred Ehlers who ran his first Spartan Event. He is an inspiration to all that meet him. He not only lost 150 pounds over the last few years, but during the Spartan, he sprained his ankle on mile 1 and continued 3 more miles to complete the challenge.
Coaches Mike and Cheryle both took first place in their age groups.
Every Boot Camper that I talked with who did the Spartan Sprint last week couldn’t say enough good things about it. Although the completion or placing in an event is awesome, doing the event with a community of like-minded people is something you will never forget.
Today, as a team we overcame many obstacles. We ran, walked as needed, climbed, crawled, jumped, lifted, swam, go dirty, wet, overdosed on gluten with pizza and beer consumption and more.
There is something extraordinary about stepping out of your comfort zone of daily life, testing your limits, and facing your fears.
I am blessed to be able to get away from work and daily life to experience these opportunities.

NBC Sports has partnered with Spartan Race to film 6 episodes of Spartan Races.
There is a Spartan Cruise next year and the World Championship race is coming up in Killington, VT this Sept 20th.
